ABOUT THE SEMINAR
The Presidency college proposes to convene a two-day UGC sponsored natioanl seminar from 29th to 30th March 2007, emphasizing the theme of “Human rights and values in Education”.

Human Rights culture through Higher Education
A critique on Human Rights protective mechanisms & challenges
The role of national and state human rights commissions
The role of Transnational and National Non-Governmental Organizations
Human Rights of
1. Women
2. Children
3. Dalits
4. Disabled persons
Papers are invited from human rights activist, lawyers, members of NGOs, academicians and research scholars in the above said sub-themes. Paper presenters are requested to present of high quality research works with their own field experiences and with critical comments. Every paper shall not exceed more than 3000 words in MS Word format-New Times Roman font-size 11 point, double spaced. Please follow Chicago manual style for references and footnotes. Every paper must also be accompanied by an abstract contain not more than 300 words. A review committee appointed for this purpose will select papers for publication in the international publishing companies. The views expressed in the papers are the views of the respective paper presenters only and not in any way represents the views of the UGC or the host institution. Both the full paper and the abstract must be submitted electronically to visu_v_n@hotmail.com on before 25.03.2007.
