In this open talk - Researching Kurdish History: Observations on Yezidi Kurds in Iraq and Kurds in Damascus - Kurdish Studies specialist Dr. Nelida Fuccaro, Middle East historian, will discuss her research on Yezidi Kurds in Iraq and Kurdish quarters in French mandate Damascus.
Dr. Fuccaro is a lecturer in the Department of Middle East history at SOAS University. She is the author of: The Other Kurds: Yezidis in Colonial Iraq.
Themes covered will include the importance of comparative research and archival resources for Kurdish studies. The event will be of particular interest to post-graduate students embarking on research projects.
