Giménez Bartlett/Petra Delicado: Documenting the Rise of a Female Detective. Like her detective Petra Delicado, Giménez Bartlett has received substantial critical acclaim and her works have achieved a popularity never before accomplished by a detective series protagonized by a Spanish female sleuth. To that end, the editors are requesting submission of manuscripts for a monograph tentatively entitled: Giménez Bartlett/Petra Delicado: Documenting the Rise of a Female Detective. This volume will reflect on the role of women’s fiction and characters, as well as the relationship between the sexes, as exemplified in the Petra Delicado series. Manuscripts may include, but are not limited to, cultural studies, women’s issues, gender studies, and other literary approaches to the author/detective. Deadline for submission of original manuscripts only is December 15, 2007. While questions may be addressed to either co-editor, please submit essays in electronic form, either as a Word or WordPerfect document (e-mail attachment or on diskette), to both: Dr. Tracy Rutledge, Dept. of World Language and Culture Studies, Simpson College, 701 North C Street, Indianola, IA 50125, Phone: 515-961-1526, E-mail: tracy.rutledge@simpson.edu, AND Dr. Jeffrey Oxford, Chair, Spanish and Portuguese, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI 5320, Phone: 414-229-5977, E-mail: oxford@uwm.edu.
