These awards are made in memory of the late W. Darrell Overdayke, long time professor of history at Centenary College.
There are both graduate and undergraduate divisions.
A. First Prize is $100 for both graduate and undergraduate divisions.
B. Second prize is $75 for both graduate and undergraduate divisions.
C. a one year complementary subscription to North Louisiana History is awarded to the four students whose papers are selected for exclusive publication in the journal.
Entrants must have been a student within the last year and must submit a letter from their professor stating this. Manuscripts must contain footnotes and not exceed 25 doublespaced pages. Papers must concern a topic relevant to the history of north Louisiana (Alexandria and above)
