On Monday, February 26, 2007, scholars, activists, students, and interested parties will convene on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford, CT, to discuss the history and current status of welfare reform, activism, and policies in the United States. Several noted scholars of welfare's history and activism will be on hand to lead discussions; we have also invited Hartford-area activists to speak to the history of welfare rights and the realities of welfare reform at the grassroots level. Historian and activist Eileen Boris will give the keynote address. We would like to invite you to attend and participate in this event -- it is free of charge but registration is required.
