The six day programme from 25 June to 30 June 2007 at the University of Nottingham will focus on providing participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively participate in the reporting process established under human rights treaty monitoring bodies. It will involve presentations by leading experts in the field accompanied by interactive group discussions, case studies and skills development exercises. The School will be conducted in English.
The Summer School is intended for persons seeking a critical understanding of the various aspects of the reporting process. The Summer School is designed to benefit current and potential staff of relevant government departments, national human rights institutions, national and international NGOs, United Nations officials and interested academics. However, the methods utilised in the conduct of the Summer School make it suitable for those with no prior experience in the field.
