of The National Maritime Historical Society/North American Society for Oceanic History.
Symposia will address the variety of roles the Merchant Marine has played in exploration, trade, nation building, labor relations, diplomacy, and warfare. In addition, the role of the merchant marine in history conveyed through literature, art, public history, and underwater archaeology will be featured.
