4th European Spring School of History of Science and Popularisation
Science, Publicity and Propaganda
17-19 May 2007
Minorca (Balearic Islands, Spain)
The Societat Catalana d'Història de la Ciència i de la Tècnica, the Institut Menorquí d'Estudis, and the European Society for the History of Science are pleased to announce the IV European Spring School of History of Science and Popularisation, which this year will deal with the subject: Science, publicity and propaganda.
Objectives of the School are to analyse:
1. Intersections and delimitations between publicity, propaganda and techno science (including biomedicine).
2. Promotion of consumption by means of scientific discourses.
3. Scientific rhetoric as an instrument for the legitimating of power.
