I am planning to form a panel for the AHA Annual Meeting at Washington DC to be held in January 2008. I am looking for panelists whose interests largely fall on Islam and modernity. Papers could be on any geographical region or time period. You may be focusing on aspects concerning gender, culture, politics, economics, nature, science, environment or any of the allied subjects but it should fall on the larger theme of Islam and modernity. We will work on the exact title and other plans once we have decided on the panel.
Please refer to www.historians.org for any details about the conference.
Those interested please send an abstract (200-300 words), along with a 1-2 page CV by February 10, 2007 to email@example.com
