Call for Papers: Mystery and Detective Fiction Area--
Oceanic Popular Culture Association Conference; Honolulu, HI<p>

We invite panel and individual paper proposals for the Mystery/Detective Fiction Area of the inaugural Oceanic Popular Culture Association Conference. Although we encourage attention to the conference theme “Work and Play,” all proposals will be considered.<p> Possible topics include:<p>
*Representations of Hawai‘i and Oceania in mystery fiction, film, and/or television.<p>
*Images of labor and leisure in mystery/detective fiction<p>
*“Arresting” or “licensing” textual play in the detective story
<p>
*Crime and Detection Fiction of Las Vegas (“the ninth Hawaiian Island”)<p>
*Fictions of Forensic Science<p>
