'Medicine in Context': 10th Biennial Conference of the Australian and New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine

We invite proposals for papers from members of the ANZSHM and from others working on the history of medicine, in Australia and elsewhere. We are particularly interested in the themes listed below; but we also welcome proposals addressing other aspects of the history of medicine that relate to ‘Medicine in Context’. We also encourage proposals that bring together a panel of papers on a common theme. Standard papers will be of 20 minutes’ duration, with 10 minutes’ discussion. Most sessions will run for 90 minutes.

Conference themes will include:

Medicine & Innovation – Medicine & Government;
Patient Perspectives – Medicine & Industry
Medicine & Community – Nursing Challenges
Professing Medicine – Medicine & Empire
Ailments Old & New – Therapies New and Old
History of Arthritis & its Treatment (Special Workshop)
