The Pecos River has been celebrated in art, literature, and song and is a crucial water source for a dry land. But for all its symbolism, myth, and economic importance, the Pecos River is an abused and overlooked stream. This conference’s purpose is to stimulate interest and concern about the Pecos River and to initiate activities that can express the character and importance of the river and its region.

Tim Bonner: Aquatic Biology of the Pecos River
Brock Brown: The Pecos River as Hispano Homeland
Mark Busby: The Pecos River in Literature and Film
