We are looking for a third panelist for the 2008 OAH on efforts to represent specific racial ideologies through fiction, photographs, and other forms of imagery. Our first paper focuses on racial visions published by a New South industrialist, the second considers a work of antislavery fiction and the "real" slave girl that supposedly embodied it. If interested, please send a short abstract to Prof. Mary Niall Mitchell at molly.mitchell@uno.edu by FEB. 6th. (The deadline for submission to the OAH is Feb 15th).
