Pankaj Jain teaches World Civilizations at New Jersey City University and Sanskrit at Rutgers University, New Jersey.
He is also working on his PhD dissertation focusing on Indian Religious Traditions and Environmental Ethics.
He is invited to present a paper from his ecological research at New Jersey City University. He draws upon the dichotomous model of householders and renouncers to differentiate the environmental perspectives from Hinduism with that of Jainism. He also presents examples from his fieldwork in Rajasthan differentiating the two and also hypothesize the effectiveness of each for larger global context in our quest to save the planet.
