The Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University, invites established scholars, writers, and advanced graduate students in US history and gender studies to apply to its first Summer Seminar on Gender History. The Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America invites established scholars, writers, and advanced graduate students in US history and gender studies to apply to its first Summer Seminar on Gender History. The weeklong seminar will examine how a focus on individual lives can further historical analysis. The seminar will include small-group workshops in which participants will present their own research and writing for evaluation and criticism. There will also be a series of five plenary sessions featuring panels of distinguished historians speaking on their current biographical work and engaging with responses from seminar participants.
Advanced graduate students as well as more established scholars and writers in US history and gender history are welcome to apply. The cost will be $295 without lodging or $650 with lodging.
