On behalf of the American Historical Association, we would like to encourage African historians to submit proposals for the 2008 Annual Meeting, to be held Jan. 3-6, 2008, in Washington, D.C. As Chair and Co-Chair of the Program Committee, we are committed to increasing the geographic and thematic diversity of its offerings. Members might consider repeating particularly successful sessions from specialist conferences such as the African Studies Association as a way to bring the latest work in African history to colleagues who work in other fields. More detailed information about the 2008 annual meeting, including the call for papers, is available on the AHA website. The deadline for online proposal submissions is Feb. 15, 2007.
