Religion in Politics: The Search for Peace in Nigeria

Adopting a multi-disciplinary approach, this study intends to examine how religion interfaces with politics in Nigeria. This work is purely academic and analytical papers are expected on issues that deal with religion and how they shape the political system and practices in Nigeria. These may include: religion as a unifying or dividing force in the politics of Nigeria; the OIC; CAN; the religious and political implications of the Sharia; religions and elections; the politics of religious holidays; neo-Christian evangelism and politics; religio-political conflicts and their impacts on the Nigerian society; religion, politics, and education; Nigerian political leaders and religious fundamentalism. Other related themes will also be considered. Interested contributors will submit an abstract of 250 words and should contact the editor for guidelines and a comprehensive list of themes. Deadline of receipt of papers is July 31, 2007. All inquiries should be directed to:
