I am trying to put together a panel entitled "The Haitian Revolution (1791-1804): Current Debates" for next year's AHA conference in Washington, DC and would like to extend an invitation for paper proposals presenting recent research on the Haitian Revolution.
This should be a very interesting way to get the relatively small group of people currently working on the Haitian Revolution around a table. Please forward this announcement to any faculty or graduate student who might be interested in participating. I will also place an announcement on H-Net.
Guidelines for AHA panels can be found on http://www.historians.org/perspectives/issues/2006/0609/0609ann4.cfm. The panel will be organized along the "Pre-circulated presentation" format.
Important note: the deadline for submitting complete panels is February 15th, so you need to e-mail the following to me no later than Friday, February 9th so that I can send the panel proposal on time.
- Paper or presentation titles
- Abstract or description for each presentation (up to 300 words)
- Biographical paragraph or CV summary (up to 250 words) for each participant
- Correct mailing and e-mail address for each participant
- List of audiovisual needs, if any
