The Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations Graduate Students' Association (NMCGSA) of the University of Toronto invites proposals for its 11th Annual Graduate Symposium to be held on March 1, 2007.
For the past decade, the NMCGSA Symposium has provided more than a hundred promising graduate students a superb opportunity to share their original research with the broader scholarly community in a conference-like forum, and to publish their presentations as proceedings. The theme of this 2007 symposium, "Dynamics of Continuity and Change in the Near & Middle East (from Antiquity to the Present)", has been chosen to ensure that a sense of interdisciplinarity prevails.
We thus welcome graduate student proposals for papers in all areas related to Near and Middle Eastern Studies. To be considered for the symposium, e-mail or mail submissions must be received by January 20th, 2007. For more information regarding the submission procedure and the possibility for students registered at a Near and Middle Eastern university to apply for potential partial funding by January 5th, 2007, check our website at http://nmcgsa.sa.utoronto.ca (Symposium – Call for Papers in Pdf format), or contact Anne Clément, NMCGSA Symposium Co-coordinator, at the following address: anne.clement@utoronto.ca, or
