We are looking for two authors to write for Routledge series, Themes in World History, edited by Peter Stearns. One volume is on Islam in World History, and the other Jews and Judaism in World History. The books will be short – about 200 pages – but, we think, are proving to be lively additions to world history teaching as reliance on textbooks, and relatedly the length of textbooks, decline. Dealing with significant topics over time, with the issues of change and continuity (and, sometimes, past-to-present links) involved, provides a vital analytical component too often missing in the world history course.
