Atlantic University Undergraduate History and Classics Conference 2007
The first ever Atlantic University Undergraduate History and Classics Conference (AUUHCC) is a student run, student oriented conference being held at Acadia University from February 2nd to 4th, 2007. This conference will give the attending and participating students an opportunity to meet others in their field from across the region and gain a wonderful educational experience in a traditional academic conference setting. It will offer an opportunity for many students to gain public speaking skills, practice for the thesis defense, or just have a really fun time away from their home school.
AUUHCC is intended specifically for undergraduate History and Classics students in the Atlantic Provinces, though it isn't exclusive to honours students - any interested party may attend, and professors are encouraged to attend the conference with their students.
Those students who wish to present should have research or experience at the Honours level - a year-long research project, a summer assistantship or archaeological expedition, or other similar experiences may be acceptable.
Additional information regarding registration, funding, accommodations, etc can be found via our website: http://axe.acadiau.ca/~062922m/index.html
If you would like to attend, or if you think any of your students may be interested, please email Natalie Janssen, Communications Liaison, at (076228j@acadiau.ca) along with the registration form found on the website. The registration deadline is January 19th, 2007, and 250 word abstracts for presentations must be submitted by then as well.
