The Communist Movement, 1944-1956
The Institute of National Remembrance is organizing an international scholarly conference to mark the 60th anniversary of the formation of the Communist Information Bureau (Cominform). The conference is to be held from 26 to 29 September 2007 near Szklarska Poreba in Poland, where Cominform was established in 1947.
The conference will consist of four thematic sessions:
1) Communist parties in Central and Eastern Europe in the period of power seizure fro9m 1944 to 1948.
2) Communist parties in Central and Eastern Europe from 1949 to 1956.
3) Communist parties in the West from 1944 to 1956.
4) Internal relations in the worldwide communist movement from 1944 to 1956.
All those interested in attending the conference - either as speakers or members of an audience - are invited.
Please submit your paper proposals and registration forms by 28 February 2007.
