I am currently organizing a panel for the 2008 Organization of American Historians Annual Meeting in New York City. The panel will focus on issues of gender and sexuality in the American history of medicine and/or science. Since the theme of the 2008 meeting is unity and synthesis, as opposed to fragmentation and specialization, one of the major aims of the panel is to demonstrate how the history of gender/sexuality can be integrated into the history of science/medicine (and vice versa). Paper proposals addressing any historical time period are welcome. Please send an abstract of no more than 250 words and a vita no more than 500 words to Howard Chiang (hchiang@princeton.edu) before December 25, 2006.
