Politica: Society for the Study of Medieval Political Thought
2007 American Political Science Association
Chicago, Illinois (August 30 - September 2, 2007)
Politica invites scholars and researchers to submit paper proposals on the relationship between knowledge and approaches to knowledge and political thought/theory in the Middle Ages. During the Middle Ages a rich conversation took place regarding the relationship between faith, reason, nature, science, tradition, history, and custom and how these had been used and could be used to support various political practices and principles. This panel seeks scholarly papers addressing the various ways in which this conversation took place in an effort to gain more understanding regarding the relationship between political life and thought and epistemological commitments.
Please send a 300 word abstract as a MS Word e-mail attachment as well as all contact information to gmorenoriano@regent.edu no later than January 15, 2007.
