The Conference Organizing Committee for CAA 2007 invites you to participate in the 35th Annual Conference of Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archae-ology (CAA) that will be held from April 2-6, 2007, in Berlin, Germany. The conference brings together students, researchers, heritage managers and other experts to discuss current theory and application of quantitative methods and computer science in Archaeology. Among the many subjects to be addressed are methods and applications of 3D reconstructions, geographic information systems, web data bases, photogrammetry, and statistics. In its papers, demos, workshops and discussion panels, this conference aims at discovering different "layers of perception" in modern Archaeology.
The conference is held under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and is organized by the German Ar-chaeological Institute (DAI), the Centre of the Ancient World (IZAW, Freie Universität Ber-lin), the Collection of Classical Antiquities Berlin (Pergamonmuseum, Staatliche Museen Preußischer Kulturbesitz), and the CAA Germany.
If you are interested in presenting a paper, a poster, or a demo, please read the call for papers http://www.caa2007.de/download/CAA2007_Second_announcement.pdf). Papers, posters and demos from all disciplines, or interdisciplinary submissions, are welcome. Deadline for abstract submission, grant application and early registration fees is December 31st, 2006. You may even want to simply attend the conference with its open and cordial atmosphere and to meet and talk with international colleagues. Not least, you will have the chance to visit Germany’s fascinating capital with its wide range of museums and some of the most exciting examples of modern architecture. For online registration and abstract submission, please go to our website www.caa2007.de. For any further questions, please contact us at hz@dainst.de.
Thank you for your attention,
