Contexts is the American Sociological Association magazine through which researchers share their research with academic and a public audiences. We are seeking original or archival images photographs, or other graphic material such as art work, maps, and diagrams that capture attention and enhance the understanding of articles listed below.
Contexts Vol. 6, no. 2 Low resolution images due 12/15
Articles in this issue deal with:
"Contexts' Forum on Mass Murder: What causes it? Can it be stopped?” Examples mentioned in the articles: school rampage, serial killings, crime sprees, ethnic riots, genocide, and the human rights movement.
"Counterinsurgency." The article focuses on the US and Iraq today, but examples can be historical and global, e.g.; 19th Century Philippines to 20th Century Yugoslavia.
"Labor revitalization: What about the strike?" This article mentions Justice for Janitors and the 1997 Teamster’s strike of UPS, so photos of these are
especially appropriate. We would prefer photos that are NOT just of picket lines.
“Prostitution: fact and fiction.” The article discusses legal prostitution in Nevada, the Netherlands, etc.
“Baby Boomers and Personalized Death Trends.” The article mentions roadside memorials, personalized funeral services and caskets, etc.
If you have materials that match any of these topics, please submit them for review. If you know others who might be interested, please forward this call to them.
SUBMIT REVIEW COPIES OF IMAGES by 12/15 but sooner is always better.
