The Home Movie Archive at the University of Massachusetts Lowell now contains hundreds of hours of amateur film in digital format, dating from the 1920s to the present. It is a rich (largely untapped) source for historians (social, family, gender, environmental, urban, architecture, etc.), artists, documentarians, and others. The searchable electronic database, available on the web, includes 89 subject categories ranging from amusement parks to May Procession to World War II. Films can be viewed onsite at UML's Media Services.
