The New England History Teachers' Association is organizing a conference
on Atlantic History to be held in Salem, Massachusetts. The conference
will be on a Friday in early November 2007 and will have optional events
on the following Saturday. The intended audience is undergraduate
college faculty, secondary teachers.

The Conference Committee is currently accepting proposals for 1-1 1/2
hour workshops and presentations. Workshops should be focused on
presenting current scholarship and/or new ways to teach Atlantic History
at the undergraduate and secondary school level. Proposals
should include a brief (no more than one page) c.v. of the presenter(s),
a paragraph description of the content to be presented, and a paragraph
description of the format of the presentation. Workshops which
emphasize teaching historical thinking about diverse perspectives in the Atlantic world (racial, gendered, class, etc.) are encouraged.
