The Western Social Science Association is an interdisciplinary meeting that provides scholars with the opportunity to interact with other scholars and to present current research in an environment that encourages cross-disciplinary discussion. Proposals for individual papers or entire sessions in all fields of history are considered.
If you have never been to a meeting of the history section of the WSSA, you have missed a chance to present in a pleasant community of scholars. We are a small section in a large conference so you have the advantages of presenting at a large conference but the chance to mingle with your colleagues (we have a dinner on Friday night in which nearly everyone attends) and really interact with one another. In such an environment, both beginning scholars and senior faculty mix comfortably with one another.
For individual papers please include the following information: name, address, telephone and
e-mail of presenter, title, and abstract (200 words) of the paper, and brief c.v. For complete panel presentations, in addition to the preceding information, send the title of the panel and the names and addresses of the chair of the session and the commentator. To participate in a roundtable or to suggest another topic for such a discussion group, send name, address, telephone, and e-mail.
To propose a paper, panel or roundtable discussion, please send your information to: T.H. Baughman, History Section Co-Coordinator: tbaughman@ucok.edu Please put in the subject line: WSSA Proposal
If e-mail is not available to you, send via snail mail to:
