Mellon Summer Institute in Spanish Paleography at the Harry Ransom Center, The University of Texas at Austin, June 11-29, 2007 -- Directed by Carla Rahn Phillips
Participants will acquire intensive practical training in reading late medieval and early modern scripts of Spain and Latin America. The institute will concentrate on skills needed for the accurate reading and transcription of the wide variety of Spanish documentary and book scripts that scholars often encounter in historical and literary research in these fields. Mellon Summer Institute in Italian Paleography at The Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles, California, July 16–August 9, 2007 -- Directed by Maddalena Signorini, Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”
This four-week residential course offers intensive training in the accurate reading and transcription of handwritten Italian vernacular texts from the late medieval through the early modern periods.
