We are inviting academic editorial contributors to Day By Day: The 1920s. This new 2-volume reference is part of Facts On File’s Day By Day series, and covers the history of the 1920s with daily entries under broad headings ranging from World Affairs to Economics.
The text is written in a Word table format, with dates along the side and thematic headings along the top. Each daily entry describes a specific event that happened on that day. We will provide sample text and writer guidelines, as well as research sources (high-speed internet connection necessary for research). The General Editor for this historical reference is Rodney P. Carlisle, Ph.D., professor emeritus, Rutgers University, who will review the text for academic and historical accuracy. The title will be published in 2007 by Facts On File for the high-school, public, and college library markets.
We are assigning each contributor 1 year of daily entries for the 1920s. Each month of entries consists of approximately 7,500 words. From experience with this series, we estimate 1 month of entries requires approximately 30 hours of research and writing. The first deadline is March 7, 2007, for a minimum of 7 months of entries per contributor. The payment for each 12-month assignment is $2,500.
If you would like to contribute to building a truly outstanding historical reference with Day By Day: The 1920s, please contact me by the e-mail information below, and we will e-mail you a sample month and guidleines. Please provide a brief summary of your background. Preferred skills include researching and writing in a news style. Thanks very much.
