The College English Association's annual conference (April 12-14 2007)invites papers on any aspect of the short story. The conference theme, "Empathy and Ethics" admits of a broad range of approaches on stories old or new, well known or obscure, in any language. Papers should be no longer than 15 minutes' delivery time (8-11 pages).
Up to four panels of 4 readers may be formed.
Abstracts of 100-500 words may be sent by E-mail to Dean Baldwin, short story sessions chair, at dxb11@psu.edu.
Deadline for submission of abstracts is December 1, 2006. Announcement of acceptance will be sent by December 15. Those whose papers are accepted must join the College English Association by January 1, 2007.
