Vive el Tenis!, an exhibit created by the International Tennis Hall of Fame, tracks tennis as it percolated southward from the United States into Mexico and Central America and northward from Chile and Argentina into the Andes and the Amazon. Vive el Tenis! illustrates the different paths tennis has taken, such as the role of European populations in establishing tennis in Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay in the 1920s, and the deep roots that today connect tennis in the Americas with Europe, the links that continue to connect tennis in the United States with the game in South and Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
The exhibit features charismatic tennis stars of the present and recent past, and earlier eras. See memorable photos and video featuring many stars who have blazed the trail of the sport.
The exhibit opens October 27, 2006. For more information, contact the International Tennis Hall of Fame's Museum staff at (401) 849-3990.
