A new collection of essays is being put together for a volume called (working title) 'The Herald in the Late Middle Ages: A European Perspective'. The aim is to give late medieval heralds scholarly treatment by collecting together essays on heralds throughout Europe. This will be the first volume of its kind in English and will flag up many issues about the role of heralds, their development and their place in society.
