There are wars between nations for expansion of territory, for the control of natural resources, wars within nations i.e. civil wars, violence engineered by state itself against citizens, violence instigated by religious denominations, violence against women and children, violence against minorities and migrants, violence as a bye product of development of modern means of transportation and communication, violence against lower castes (dalits) etc. Intervention strategies have to be developed to eradicate the evil of violence from human society.
Against this backdrop, International seminar on the broad theme of "Coping with Violence in Today's World" has ben planned on February 22-23, 2007.
