globalization and the booming economy demand different structures and contents from the indian academic institutions which still function like in the past. The teaching of a foreign language like german, which reflects the caste society, needs reforms to revitalize the programme, so that it can cater to the growing dreams of many indians and the indian economy.
this seminar will discuss the global challenges which india faces in the field of foreign language teaching, especially the teaching of german, the third most popular foreign language in india. It will also discuss the current scenario of german at the indian institutions and evolve a new approach to develop german studies in a more practical and developmental manner.
This seminar is the 5th annual conference of the teachers of German language, literature and culture studies of india and it will be held in goa from 28th february to 04th march 2007.
