Ivy Tech Community College, Madison, is pleased to announce that its First Annual Southeastern Indiana Humanities conference will be held on March 2-3, 2007, at Indiana University, Southeast, in New Albany, Indiana. This year's conference theme is "The Humanities: Understanding the World - Past, Present, and Future." Papers considered for presentation should address this general theme. Papers considered for presentation should focus on one of the following discplines: History, literature and creative writing, art, music, philosophy, theatre, or a closely related field. Interdisciplinary papers are strongly encouraged; group panels/presentations are welcome.This year's conference will also include an undergradute section for young scholars. Abstract should be smailed to Becky Meadows-Wilson, and should be between 250-300 words in length. Abstracts should be mailed to the address listed below. Please, no email submissions.
Conference fees are as follows: Undergraduate students - $45; graduate students - $55; professional scholars - $70. Individuals will be notified if their papers have been accepted.
