In this fifth annual interdisciplinary conference for teachers of undergraduates, presenters may address ways in which college teachers "pay attention" to students or attempt to hold their attention. Presenters can discuss traditional means of focusing on classroom maoments--close reading, observation, or analytical techmiques-or might cover the techmology available for centering student focus on visual or textual material. Presenters might also discuss ways in which we attend to the realities of our students in efforts to not only care for them but to know just when and what they are understanding atany given moment. Send short proposal abstracts by December 15, 2006.
