The NASA History Division has released a solicitation (SOL NNH06165320R) for the preparation of a scholarly book-length manuscript on "A History of NASA’s International Relations." The manuscript shall focus on the time period since NASA’s inception while also including background detail on previous scientific endeavors, such as the International Geophysical Year (IGY). The publication shall include consideration of the cultural, political, social, and personal factors that have shaped NASA’s approach to international relations. The manuscript shall document the history of international cooperation on specific projects, including tracking networks; human spaceflight missions such as the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, Space Shuttle, and the International Space Station; and space science missions ranging from the French FR1 and EOLE projects in the 1960s to Earth resources satellites, Cassini-Huygens, and other missions today.
