This is a major effort to document the rich economic history of the Igbo in one volume. No doubt a lot of work has already been done, but these exist in several documents. At the same time, this aspect of Igbo history is too important to be neglected. Hence, Topics in Igbo Economic History is an effort not only to document the rich economic life of the Igbo but also to emphasize the teaching and learning of Igbo Economic History in the various institutions of higher learning.
Fifteen themes have so far been identified and it is expected that one or more articles would be written on each theme. Contributors are at liberty to come up with topics that revolve around one or more of the identified themes. However, such articles must conform with historical traditions.

It is expected that the book would be ready by March 2007 and it would be circulated within and outside Nigeria. Interested Contributors are expected to send an Abstract of not more than 500 words via e mail before September 20, 2006, on any of the identified themes, and upon receipt by the editors (Confirmation or otherwise would be sent within 14 days).
Papers (hard and soft copy), which must not be more than 20 pages, in 12-point Times New Roman font, typed and double-spaced on A4 paper, should have been received by November 30, 2006. A five-line paragraph containing autobiographical information should also be included.
