In 2005 the project of creating a wide-ranging and scholarly international print journal in French devoted entirely to the writer Michel Leiris came to life. Its final title is the Cahiers Leiris.
Numerous academics and keen readers of Leiris from around the world were quick to demonstrate their strong interest by responding favourably to our call for contributions. Since then, committees have been set up for publication, reading and editing. These are genuine evidence of the quality and the particularity of the future journal, in which the articles, all previously unpublished, will relate to the work – literary, critical and ethnographical – and the life of Michel Leiris, as well as to his relationship to his contemporaries.
With the publication of the first issue of the Cahiers Leiris being anticipated for the first quarter of 2007, the time is right for us to announce without any further delay the creation of the Association des Cahiers Leiris, which you can now join. Its objective is the production, distribution and promotion of the journal. By becoming a member of this non-profit organization, you will be the first to receive your journal at the same time as making a significant and supportive contribution to the birth of these Cahiers, which belong to a long tradition of French criticism.
For more information about the membership specifics or the staff of the Cahiers, we invite you to visit the Michel Leiris website (in French):
