The Massachusetts Historical Society announces the schedule for its 2006-2007 season of seminars in Early American History. This season the society will host eight regular season meetings between September 14, 2006 and April 5, 2007, and then our annual summer meeting will take place on June 21st, 2007.
As always the seminar consists of the discussion of a pre-circulated paper. All seminars meet at the Massachusetts Historical society and commence at 5:15 PM. After each session the society will serve a light buffet supper. Reservations are suggested but not required to attend the seminar, but are required to attend the supper so that numbers may be given to the caterer. To make a reservation please email Mr. Vose or call our seminar voicemail line (reservations only please), at (617) 646-0540. Although all seminars are free and open to the public, in order to defray expenses a small annual subscription fee is required to receive papers in advance. To receive a username and password which allows papers to be downloaded in PDF format from a secure page on our website, please send $25. To receive hardcopies by post, please send $35. Please mark your check with the name of the series you are subscribing and send it to the Society at the address which is found elsewhere in this announcement to the attention of Seth M. Vose III, Program Coordinator. Mr. Vose may be reached by email at svose@masshist.org or by phone at (617) 646-0518.
Please also note the society hosts two other seminar series, Immigration & Urban History and Environmental History. The price of seminar papers for these seminars is $15 online and $25 by post. Please send Mr. Vose all questions regarding both Early American and Immigration & Urban seminars. For information on Environmental History Seminars or to subscribe to this series please contact Cherrylinne Pina at cpina@masshist.org.
