Call for contributors for an edited collection of essays on the social history of the Cold War and McCarthy periods in the United States, to be published by ABC-Clio. I am particularly interested in essays on the following topics:
loyalty oaths and federal workers
McCarthyism and Hollywood
McCarthyism and journalists
representations of Communism in American popular culture
civil defense societies
and individual essays on the effects of the Cold War and McCarthyism on groups such as women, African Americans, children, homosexuals, and organized labor.
