NEW DAWN is an on-line journal devoted to the study of, the engagement with and the debate within and across Black Canadian culture and life. New Dawn is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary journal established to publish scholarship that engages all the disciplines from which Black Canadian culture and life might be examined. New Dawn acknowledges and marks the significant and sustained growth in the field of Black Canadian Studies. This journal signals the continued growth of the field and scholars dedication to maintaining such growth. The journal is dedicated to publishing scholarship that engages, debates, explicates and sustains Black Canadian culture and life. The journal is also interested in scholarship that engages with Black Canadian culture and life across other minoritized ethnicities. NEW DAWN places Black Canadian culture and life within the multiple circuits of the Black Diaspora and simultaneously within the Canadian nation. NEW DAWN publishes scholarship on Black Canadians from all the various disciplines in an effort to produce a sustained conversation about the past, present and future.
