The Research Center of the Chicago History Museum will close for three months as of July 1. This closing will allow staff to re-house collections in the stacks so that materials, inaccessible for the past year because of the museum's major renovation, will once again be available to the public. The Research Center will re-open on September 30.
Appointments to use the Research Center may be made by researchers who wish to examine a specific collection of manuscripts, photos, or architectural drawings.
Research Center staff and Rights and Reproductions staff will answer telephone questions from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Rights and Reproductions staff will fill photo orders during this period. Research Center staff will answer emailed reference questions as resources permit.
Please call 312-642-4600 or email research@chicagohistory.org to schedule an appointment or to submit a question.
