The Scottish Association for the Study of America (SASA) was formed in 1999 to encourage and facilitate the study of America in Scotland. The annual conference aims to provide a forum for Americanist postgraduate students and faculty to share and discuss their research. Neither membership of the Association, nor participation at the conference is limited to scholars based in Scotland. The next conference will take place at the University of Edinburgh on Friday 2 March, 2007.
Proposals are invited from scholars of international relations, politics, history, literature, religious studies and other cognate disciplines. Proposals for both individual papers and panels are welcomed; each paper proposal should not exceed one page and must include a provisional title and full contact information. Postgraduate students are particularly encouraged to submit. Proposals may be sent electronically or by post to the address below. The deadline is 1 December, 2006.
