The Abbey Program of The University of Southern Mississippi and its associated consortium announces the anticipated opening of a spring term 2007 lectureship in European History and/or cultural studies. Specialty in early or late modern French history preferred but not required. The successful candidate will teach three courses: a lower division survey of European history after 1500; an upper division course with a national or thematic specificity related to the candidate's expertise and an advanced seminary to be experimental in content and pedagogy. The Abbey Program is administered by The Center for International Education at Southern Miss and is based in the historic abbey of Pontlevoy, in Pontlevoy, France. Teaching and residency dates are: 5 February - 8 May. Interested candidates should send an email of interest, together with a current vita and list of 5 academic references.
