The Department of History at Simon Fraser University, in conjunction with the William P. Clements Center for Southwest Studies at Southern Methodist University, announces plans to hold a one-day symposium on borderlands history in North America. The program, titled "Bridging National Borders in North America," will be held on Saturday, 16 September 2006, at the Harbour Centre Canoys of Simon Fraser University in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. The program will consist of public presentations of research comparing the experiences of the Canadian-United States and Mexican-U.S. borderlands experiences.
