Wittenberg University will be hosting a conference honoring the scholarship and teaching of Prof. James Huffman. The conference, “Japan and the World,” will begin on Friday, November 10, 2006, with a keynote address, by Pulitzer-prize winner, John Dower, who will set the cross-national tone with “Cultures of War: Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima, and 9-11.” The conference will run Saturday, November 11, in non-concurrent sessions and will feature four sessions:
*Journalism and Media in Japan
*Japanese Imperialism
*People’s History of Japan
*Teaching East Asia and the World
In addition, the Midwest Japan Seminar will hold its meeting in conjunction with Japan and the World conference.
