This summer course is specifically designed to instigate new creative thought in the field of education through a direct critical engagement with radical social, political, and cultural theory. Students will also introduce one another to their own approach to education as well as the perspectives and ideas that we all bring into this course: What is theoretically "radical" in today's present social, political, and cultural climate? How might radical cultural and political theories reinvigorate our perspectives on education? Students are also urged to take a closer look at the relationship between theory and educational practice in order to develop a critical perspective of contemporary thought on education and to debate one's own research in respective and relevant fields with a better understanding.
